These guys train in gyms, and they tangle with sparring partners. They wear head gear, and the sparring partners are there to sharpen up the professional fighter, and nothing more. Under no circumstance is the sparring partner to try to hurt the heavyweight, let alone knock him down or knock him out.
The Republicans, at least since George HW Bush, do not view Democrats as equal heavyweight boxers, beholden to the same rules. No, Republicans see Democrats as sparring partners, and their only use is to absorb punches without truly fighting back.
In today’s Daily Show, this sentiment is expressed. In life, there are rules, loopholes, and norms. Republicans get around the rules by coming up with bullshit loopholes. Democrats are expected to follow norms, though, no different than the Ryan Reynolds character in Free Guy. They are supposed to behave like cookie-cutter NPCs. The GOP thinks the Dems are sparring partners, and nothing more. “I can hit you as hard as I want, but if you think you can hit me back with the same strength, I’ll get rid of your ass and find someone new!” This is their actual chickenshit attitude and belief.

@2:01 New Republic headline: “Stock Market Tanks as Trump Unveils Nightmare Cabinet Picks”

@0:49 “Even a democracy dwindles into an ochlocracy, aka mob rule.”
Every significant recent indicator points to a national transition from democracy to ochlocracy. It’s not just Trump, even though he’s the absolute worst. The Supreme Court has rotted, and Congress is critically corrupt. In the coming years, legacy media will pretend democracy is alive and real, but it’s not. It is now time to cite Crowded House: Hey now, hey now, don’t dream, it’s over …

@5:03 preview of interview with congressman, Daniel Goldman. Crazy Queer Trump has indicated he’d try to be elected for an unconstitutional 3rd term in 2028. Trump has turned out to be the queerest person in human history.
